Main Street \nWendell\, NC 27591 \nEmail AND Phone number are required when registering. \nEntry Fee $80.00/Team  REGISTER HERE \n(Universal Chevrolet Supplies All Meats) \nShow the public what a great BBQ cook you are.  Join us for a people’s choice contest for cooking the best pork. \nThis event will be held at Universal Chevrolet and should be well attended. Restricted to 25 teams.  This is two contests in one. The public gets to vote and there is a blind judging portion. The judging public will be given one ticket each to vote. There will be “no stuffing the ballot box”.  So\, if you are that guy or gal whom everyone says\, “you cook the best “Q” in town” then come out and show off your stuff. \n  \nHere are the winnings \n\n\n\n\nPeople’s Choice                    \nJudging\n\n\n1st Place\n$ 500                                        \n$ 500\n\n\n2nd Place\n$ 200                                        \n$  300\n\n\n3rd Place\n$ 100                                        \n$  200\n\n\n4th Place\n$ 50 Gift Card\n \n\n\n5th Place\n$ 25 Gift Card\n\n\n\n\nHere’s how it works: \nPEOPLES CHOICE: \nSeptember 19\, 2025 \nTeams can arrive at 4:00 PM\, \nMandatory Cooks Meeting 6:30 PM \n September 20\, 2024 \nJudging Turn-In 10:30 AM (no garnish required) \nPeople’s Choice starts at 11:00 AM-3:00 PM \nTicket turn in 3:30 PM \nWinners announced 4:30 PM \nCook Trailers Allowed \nWood\, charcoal\, electric\, & gas are acceptable \nTeams are responsible for collecting and turning in tickets to the designated rep at the conclusion. \nUniversal Will Provide:  \nEach team with 4 – 8#-9# butts \n2 oz. sample serving cups \nJudging Turn-in Boxes \nWater \nNo Electric – Generators Allowed \nBathroom Facilities \nGrease/gray water disposal \nTrash disposal \nAsh disposal \nNOTE:  This event is open to the public.  Come out and see all the different smokers\, tast\, some fabulous “Q” and speak with the Pitmasters.
